The child health service: Governing families of pre-school children in Western Australia
Ann-Claire Larsen
Abstract
Child health governance of preschool children during the twentieth century gradually changed from a central focus on physical health to an emphasis on mental health.
This change of focus entails normative procedures and confessional techniques that involve families in the processes of their subjection.
The human sciences are implicated in this shift that has affected child health nurses as well as their clients.
